A Feast of Eateries to Choose From!

If you enjoy food — and hey, who doesn’t! — Century City is the place for you. There’s an incredible range of different national cuisines, cooking styles and ambiences to choose from — and most of them are within easy walking distance of the Urban Square Hotel and the Bridgewater Hotel. Here’s a brief overview of most of the eateries for your dining pleasure.

GUSTO URBAN ITALIAN

On the ground floor of the Bridgewater Hotel is Gusto — a true Italian restaurant with a wood-fired pizza oven, but infused with contemporary and urban influences, giving it a far more stylish and trendy feel than your traditional trattoria or pizzeria. As the name says, it’s all about flavour. Fun and flavour!

SQUARE CAFE AND WINE BAR

Square Cafe and Wine Bar offers a hearty breakfast buffet, a popular harvest table weigh and pay lunch buffet, an all-day deli and a particularly well-stocked wine cellar. Located on the ground floor of the Century City Hotel Urban Square, and spilling out on a welcoming deck overlooking the Urban Square, this is the perfect spot for a working day lunch or a leisurely wind-down after work.

ACARA POOL BAR AND TERRACE

BOOTLEGGER COFFEE COMPANY

Created in 2012, Bootleggers draws much of its brand attitude and charm from the music and rhythm of the AC/DC lyrics which adorn its walls. From burgers to benedict, ribs to rocket, Bootleggers make honest food with fresh local ingredients, including farm fresh free-range eggs.

BRICK LANE EATERY

Brick Lane Eatery is tucked away in an intimate waterfront venue in the Quays, and offers amazing food, affordable rates, wonderful service, a dog-friendly setting, and free WiFi. The layout is open-concept, with outdoor seating as well as both downstairs and upstairs indoor sitting.

HIPPOLYTAS CHOCOLATES

While flavour is undoubtedly at the heart of the brand, Hippolytas also takes pleasure in being honest, ethical, and sustainable. Their chocolate is obtained from the Belgian company Callebaut, whose product is 100% traceable and sustainable.

LA PARADA

La Parada Bar De Tapas originally opened its doors in Bree Street, one of Cape Town’s most popular culinary streets, as a homage to the Spanish bars that enchanted Hemingway. La Parada serves tapas inspired by Spanish cuisine but tailored to the South African palate.

MOZAMBIK

Serving delectable Afro-porto cuisine at its very best, Mozambik has a relaxing vibe and a feel-good factor as you enter the door. If peri-peri, garlic and lemon butter are your thing, the seafood delights and hearty meats of Mozambik will definitely tickle your taste buds.

ORAH BAR & LOUNGE

Orah Bar & Lounge’s warm, friendly ambiance is ideal for catching up with friends. It’s an excellent pick for a nightcap in Cape Town, with superbly made cocktails and a selection of single malt whiskeys.
